National Basketball League Held Back


DBL will hold a competition Women's National Basketball League (WNBL) in March and April 2012. Director of DBL Indonesia, Azrul Ananda said that although it is surprising, but it has decided to hold the competition at this time in a long vacuum and the requesting party.
Azrul said that the board has been coordinating with Basketball Association of Indonesia (PB Perbasi) and women's basketball club. There are five basketball club that will participate in the league, namely Surabaya Fever, Friends of Semarang, Solo Sritex Dragons, Galaxy Mighty Bees Tomang Jakarta, and eagle-Tunas fathers of West Java. In the competition, club participants will meet each of the two times in the accompanying Flexi NBL Indonesia in 2011-2012 series Surabaya, Jakarta, and the Championship series held in the city of Yogyakarta. The first competition will be held on March 14 in the city of Surabaya and the final will be held in Jogjakarta UNY GOR on 28 April 2012.
Agus Mauro, Secretary General of Perbasi, stating that it was so eager with the league dihelatnya the WNBL. And with the league will make the path easier for Perbasi to accommodate the women's basketball player in the championship show of skill, such as the SEA Games competition. He said the existence of women's basketball league, the company would find no difficulty in preparing the women's basketball player to play in the upcoming SEA Games in 2013 in Myanmar.
From the list of players that have been set by the organizers, the inaugural WNBL season games will be widely followed by the former star of DBL, DBL Indonesia including former All-Star selection or DBL Indonesia who had competed in several countries such as Malaysia, Australia, and the United States. In the inaugural WNBL season game will be followed by many former DBL, DBL Indonesia and even former members of the All-Star selection or DBL Indonesia who had competed in several countries such as Australia, the United States and Malaysia.
